Long distance Moving: Life in Asheville, NC

If you’re thinking of moving to Asheville, North Carolina, you’ll be joining quite a prestigious list.  For years, luminaries and visionaries from the likes of George Vanderbilt to the likes of Steve Martin have chosen to call the mountain-ringed seclusion of Ashville their homes. Even the Obama’s couldn’t help but fall in love with the Land of the Sky during a debate preparation stay in 2010.  By the second visit, the president had his own Asheville Beer named in his honor and a family table set aside at the Asheville Corner Kitchen.

Call Asheville the land of the sky, or Beer City, Asheville is a place where imaginations run free, libations run generously, and progressive thinking is woven into the city’s rich history. At we’re all about progressive thinking, and we don’t mind cracking a good craft beer open after a hard day of work either. So, with that said, let’s make a toast to the next generation of Asheville visionaries and the visionaries at Move It Cube It who can help to get you there. Here are our suggestions for some of the best places to check out if you’re moving to Asheville.

Beer City Scene

A lot of the visionaries in Asheville have likely gotten many an epiphany over a craft brew in one of the city’s 23 breweries per capita. Known as Beer City, USA and truly earning the moniker, Asheville draws hopheads from all over the country with its wealth of breweries, taprooms, and pretty darn amazing alehouses. Burial Beer Co., a former auto repair shop, specializes in Belgian Ales while the Green Man’s original taproom focuses on English style brew. Hit up the Funkatorium by Wicked Weed for sours ranging from the mouth twisting to the majestic.

Farm to Table

Asheville has been doing farm to table long before it was a selling point, and now it’s taken back its crown. Top-notch restaurants such as Bouchon and Tupelo Honey Cafe have turned Asheville into a food-to- table dining destination. Be sure to stop into Sovereign Remedies for a nightcap. This 20th-century pharmacy turned 21st-century pub, serves up healthy doses of libations infused with botanicals certain to cure whatever ails you. We suggest the root daiquiri made with rum, sasparilla, burdock, lime, and dandelion.

The Biltmore

In the late 19th century, George Washington Vanderbilt was so inspired by the beauty of Asheville that he bought 125,000 acres of it. Completed in 1895, the Biltmore is the largest private residence in the United States with over four acres of floor space, full of remnants of Gilded Age Luxury. Visitors can see 16th-century tapestries, works from the likes of Renoir and Sargent and stroll through the vast gardens created by Frances Law Olmstead.

A Word from the Visionaries at Move It Cube It

It’s hard to argue with the fact that Asheville has seen its fair share of visionaries. From literary greats to millionaires, to aspiring restauranteurs, individuals have sought Asheville for its bohemian culture, natural beauty, and progressive mindedness. At Move It Cube It, we share that same progressive-minded spirit and we’ve used it to revolutionize the moving business.

In our over fifty of experience, one thing became clear to us. The traditional way of moving is flawed and outdated. Our cubes are a solution-based product designed to make the moving process streamlined, efficient, and hassle-free.

The process begins with our weather and impact resistant cubes. We bring these to your house to be packed at your convenience. After packing them, you hold on to the key, so you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing that you will be the only one with access to your belongings during transport.

If your belongings require handling during the move, our cubes work along with our expertly engineered truck and pulley system to prevent the risks that often occur when your items change hands during moving. The cubes isolate and compartmentalize your items, so they won’t become mixed with others. Our touch of a button technology eliminates the need for additional handling. The result is a labor efficient cost-effective, more streamlined moving experience for the customer.

At Move It Cube It, we love Asheville for its progressive mindedness, and we hope the feeling is mutual. If you’re thinking of moving to Asheville, request our rate quote today and let’s toast to a beautiful future.
